Cheap lens, wrong exposure, no gunfire, but glad I came out. Flew right overhead.
And in case you missed it, from yesterday when biplanes flew over the same hospital. I had just pulled up so didn’t get a chance to break out the DSLR.

Only within the months did i come to realize the full extent of the A-10’s abilities. Its definitely my favorite jet now. Before I preferred the Saab Gripen, Mig 29 and 35, and the Super Hornet but tue A-10 is just soooo cool!

I suspect the Venn diagram of Jeep owners and A-10 fans has quite a bit of overlap.

The A-10 is the brown, manual, diesel wagon of the jet world.
Does anyone else hear these things whistle when they fly. I always hear them whistling when I lived in Tucson, but went to hardcore shows for ten years without wearing ear plugs so my hearing is sub optimal.

Thunderbirds and Blue Angels flew over today, but I couldn’t see them from my house. My son and his mom had a great view from just a few miles away though.

This was my first experience with them and I didn’t notice anything, but I was more focused on getting the shots.
I did notice yesterday that my tinnitus is getting worse. Yay.

I’ve always loved the A-10's. They’re like an odd duckling of the fighter jets.
I got carried away below , TLDR version: SAAB Grippen for Canada!
I wish Canada would choose the SAAB Gripen to replace our CF-18's. I think it’d be a good match for us, with good tech and industry share (we could support our own on soil companies) , and a great data suit. Being cheaper to fly per hour/ maintain, a much larger range, and already proven cold- weather capable doesn’t hurt either. And nothing against the US or it s companies, and not that I like Bombardier at all (I very specifically do not), but with the US stepping on a Canadian company’s toes I kinda feel we should wave a monetary middle finger at Boeing. A lot of people seem to feel we need a “large” fighter. Really we just need something to drop some bombs/ carry NATO armaments, feel like we’re not totally behind the times, and be maintainable on a much smaller defence budget than our southern neighbours. I mean come on, we’ve got the population of C alifornia spread over one of the planet’s largest countries that spends half it’s year frozen to hell, right beside the most technologically advanced military in the world. We don’t need THE best of anything militarily.

I was standing in my backyard once in Massachusetts and 4 or 5 flew over in formation. It was amazing. They are by far the best.

I was once somewhere on a mountain and one of our guys in one of those flew so low over the ridge I could see his helmet art clearly .

I got my hearing aids on the day Lemmy died. Very appropriate.
